As we predicted yesterday, Warner Bro's dropped our first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman at SDCC this morning, and I think they nailed it, despite the obvious (and sensibl, really) semblance to Xena. There is a clear connection to the iconic costume but it will also fit nicely with the established aesthetic of the film so far. I dig the classic eagle breast plate, "WW" on the belt, lasso on the hip, and shifting the red-blue color palette to a more logical bronze works nicely. I'm not going to pretend that this is sensible, tactical, combat armor-- she's wearing hooker boots and a mini-skirt for fuck's sake-- but still, Gadot is looking fierce, powerful and ready for a fight.
Between this and the up-close look at Batfleck under the cowl from Thursday, WB is 2 for 2. I think it will be awhile before we get to see any of our secondary hero's or villains, but this gives me a lot of hope.
I don't, however, think it's out of the question to get some more casting confirmed for Batman v Superman before SDCC is over. Anyone know what Jason Momoa's up to this weekend?
